Crayola Model Magic Meals

Hi there!

One of my sweet daughters, Sarah, made this amazing selection of "meals' using Crayola Model Magic. I just had to share them today on the blog.

One of Sarah's teacher at school has a stuffed hamster called Hammy. Hammy wears little outfits, etc so she decided to make some "meals" for him.

She is 11!!!

Merry Christmas with The Stamps of Life

Hello there!

I received my new Stamps of Life Stamp and Die set and I couldn't wait to use it!

The coffee mug is so cute and was created to be hot chocolate but I think you could create coffee drinks, too!

I die cut the mugs from patterened paper and added each one to the white card stock shadow.

I stamped sentiments on each and added twine and bling. These are from previous Card kit stamp sets.

The Kraft card stock was embossed with an older Snowflake folder from Sizzix.

Thanks for reading today!

Make It Monday #301 Matting with Glitter

Today I am sharing a card I made for this week's MIM #301 Matting with Glitter.

I have been very short on time the last few weeks so I am happy I was able to get any crafting time!

I didn't use loose glitter for my mat. I decided to use glitter paper because I wanted the whole mat to show through the snowflake mat.

You can really see the shine of that glitter paper in this photo:

I decided to make my Joy circle with gold embossing powder to add a little warmth to the cool tones.

Thanks Lizzie for the great tutorial!

Queen and Co. Halloween Hooplah Pillow Box

Hi there!

Just wanted to share a sweet little box I made using the Queen and Co. Halloween Hooplah Kit and The Stamps of Life Pillow Box set.

I love the Pillow box die because it takes on piece of paper and one pass in your die cut machine to make this adorable box. Just add tape and you are done!

I love shakers and the newest kit from Queen & Co. doesn't disappoint. Candy Corn is my all time favorite halloween item so of course I used that shaker for this box.

I am entering this box in the SSS Monday Challenge: Not a Card.

Papertrey ink July Blog Hop

Hello, I squeezed in a moment to make a card to participate in PTI's July Blog Hop!

Inspiration photo from Once Wed

The wreath jumped out at me so I pulled an older Papertrey ink wreath set and created this note card by stamping in gray and then adding the bow and sentiments in marina mist from Stampin' Up.

Papertreyink Make It Monday #291 Emboss Resist Shadow Sentiments with

I finally found some time to create something for PTI Make It Monday #291 Emboss Resist Shadow Sentiments.

Ashley has a great video this week for this technique.

Like most of the country lately, it has been really, really hot! My card has fall colors because I can't wait for it to come!

I love all the Make It Market Mini sets and pulled out Color Pop Autumn.

I cut a piece of Bristol smooth paper using the Mix and Mat Postal Die. I stamped Bountiful with Pacific Point ink (SU.) After letting that dry for a second, I moved the stamp over just a smidge and embossed it again with Versamark and clear matte powder.

I began adding Old Olive ink all over the card and you can see the white shadow.

After inking, I let it dry well again as I have found the it takes Bristol a while to dry because the ink sits on top a little longer than regular card stock. That is one of the properties I really like about Bristol, it blends ink well.

I spritzed a little water on using my Distress mister and dried it off.

Next, I die cut the preprinted flowers that are included in the kit and added them with liquid glue.

I cut a piece of Enchanted Evening (such a lovely, rich blue) and adhered those together. This was  mounted it on a base of Pinefeather and Clear Wink of Stella was added to the flowers.

This was a fun technique I will be incorporating into future cards! Thanks Ashley.

Have a great day.

Happy Saturday! Celebrate your day with My Favorite Things

Hello there!

It has been a busy few weeks at my house. I helped with Vacation Bible school at my church and we have an Art camp next week. I haven't had much time to craft but I was able to get a couple of cards made today!

For the MFT Sketch Challenge #342 I began by cutting a piece of Cameo Coral (SU) and embossing it with a heart folder. I added a little ink to make the hearts pop out.

I stamped the sentiment from an older MFT set. Next, I cut the Chevron Fringe from gray and black and added at the bottom. I added two trios of clear sequins as the last touch.

Thanks for stopping by!

I am also entering this card in the MFT Color Challenge #73.

Christmas Critters card with Papertrey ink

Just wanted to share a card I made to play along with Create Along with Us July.

Here is the card that caught my eye from Release Day 1 by Nichole:

I really love this new bird that she used in silhouette just by using ink and then stamping the sentiments!

I instantly thought of Christmas Critters to be the silhouette on my panel. I just love this set so much so I decided it would be Christmas in July!

I die cut the two mice with full sticky post it notes to create my masks. Then I sponged the back ground using Green Gumball from Stampin' Up.

Next I stamped the sentiments from the accompanying set all over and after letting it dry well I used a mix and mat to cut it out.

Before adding it to Pure Poppy, I embossed it using my Quatrefoil Cover Plate to add some interest.

Four holly leaves and berries were added the corners and a gold ribbon was added last.

You are Loved with The Stamps of Life Drop-Ins

I wanted to share a card I created today using some things from The Stamps of Life.

I began by embossing a piece of watercolor paper with the Flower Power folder. I added a rainbow of watercolor and let this dry.

Next, I die cut the sentiment from Sizzix You are Loved 3D Drop ins from Strawberry card stock. I tied on a piece of Lemonade ribbon and added it to Emerald Envy card stock (Stampin' Up).

I really liked it just as is but I decided to add these lovely white daisies. I like the contrast with all the color of the background.

Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #290 Stenciling and Masking

Hello and Happy Saturday!

I created a card for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #290 Stenciling and Masking challenge.

Betsy has a great video this week sharing this technique.

I stuck down a piece of Bristol paper onto a cricut mat (great idea, Betsy!) and covered the paper with  the open rectangle stencil from the MIM Herb Garden. I love this stencil.  The second stencil in the kit is similar but a circle shape. Incredibly versatile!

I blended the background using Scattered Straw from Tim Holtz Distress. I stamped the images next but I messed up some at the bottom. The stencil is pretty thick and I didn't apply enough texture.  So, I did it again!!! Sometimes you it takes more than one try to get something right!

I cut the image out using one of the frames from the Mix and Mat Series. This was added to a piece of yellow card stock.

The card base is Pinefeather (I love this green!) and I added a lighter green die cut of a Papertrey ink cover plate.

I went really old school and tied the twine around the edges. I used to wrap all my grandfather's Christmas gifts for him and he taught me to run the ribbon around like this. I would always see this done at the fancy department stores when they used to wrap gifts. Funny what memories come to mind when I craft....

Anyway, I stamped the sentiment and popped it all up on the card.
