I cut a piece of Bristol smooth paper using the Mix and Mat Postal Die. I stamped Bountiful with Pacific Point ink (SU.) After letting that dry for a second, I moved the stamp over just a smidge and embossed it again with Versamark and clear matte powder.
I began adding Old Olive ink all over the card and you can see the white shadow.
After inking, I let it dry well again as I have found the it takes Bristol a while to dry because the ink sits on top a little longer than regular card stock. That is one of the properties I really like about Bristol, it blends ink well.
I spritzed a little water on using my Distress mister and dried it off.
Next, I die cut the preprinted flowers that are included in the kit and added them with liquid glue.
I cut a piece of Enchanted Evening (such a lovely, rich blue) and adhered those together. This was mounted it on a base of Pinefeather and Clear Wink of Stella was added to the flowers.
This was a fun technique I will be incorporating into future cards! Thanks Ashley.
It has been a busy few weeks at my house. I helped with Vacation Bible school at my church and we have an Art camp next week. I haven't had much time to craft but I was able to get a couple of cards made today!
For the MFT Sketch Challenge #342 I began by cutting a piece of Cameo Coral (SU) and embossing it with a heart folder. I added a little ink to make the hearts pop out.
I stamped the sentiment from an older MFT set. Next, I cut the Chevron Fringe from gray and black and added at the bottom. I added two trios of clear sequins as the last touch.
Betsy has a great video this week sharing this technique.
I stuck down a piece of Bristol paper onto a cricut mat (great idea, Betsy!) and covered the paper with the open rectangle stencil from the MIM Herb Garden. I love this stencil. The second stencil in the kit is similar but a circle shape. Incredibly versatile!
I blended the background using Scattered Straw from Tim Holtz Distress. I stamped the images next but I messed up some at the bottom. The stencil is pretty thick and I didn't apply enough texture. So, I did it again!!! Sometimes you it takes more than one try to get something right!
I cut the image out using one of the frames from the Mix and Mat Series. This was added to a piece of yellow card stock.
The card base is Pinefeather (I love this green!) and I added a lighter green die cut of a Papertrey ink cover plate.
I went really old school and tied the twine around the edges. I used to wrap all my grandfather's Christmas gifts for him and he taught me to run the ribbon around like this. I would always see this done at the fancy department stores when they used to wrap gifts. Funny what memories come to mind when I craft....
Anyway, I stamped the sentiment and popped it all up on the card.
It is time for me to sell some of my crafty stuff!

Today I have a card I created using a mix of products from My Favorite Things, Lawn Fawn and The Stamps of Life.
It all began with the largest die from My Favorite Things Blueprints 29. I had a piece of a cloud patterned piece from The Stamps of Life and I decided to die cut this paper to create a window.
On a gray card stock base I stamped a wood grain background using gray ink (Stampin' Up). Of course, I missed a spot when I stamped! I didn't have time to redo it so I just went with it. Does this ever happen to you??
I glued the window and the cloud paper down and then put a bright red Hello on the bottom of the frame.
I stamped, die cut and colored two birds from Lawn Fawn Love Letters. I popped up the blue birds placing one of the birds on my blank spot!
I have been cleaning up my craft room and I rediscovered an older set, Mod Squad. It is retro and I thought it would be fun to use. It is a little out of my comfort zone so it is good to try new things!
I began by cutting a circle and lightly tracing it on a piece of white card stock. I chose the following Stampin' Up ink colors:
Night of Navy
Pretty in Pink
I stamped around the circle and decided to add one more color and small shape using Bermuda Bay.
Next, I stamped the edge border like Lizzie's card and I used my stamp positioner for this. There is no way I could have done it without that tool!
I trimmed down the white paper and attached it all onto Night of Navy card stock. The silver ribbon is from Stampin' Up.
